National implementation of the 2030 Agenda

Public policy and regulatory reviews to assess contributions to Sustainable Development Goals, as well as support to consultation process and drafting of Voluntary National Reviews submitted by different Central American countries to the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. Analytical review of all VNRs submitted since 2016 for a major European donor.

Financing for sustainable development

Long-term agreement with UNDP on Development Finance Assessments and Integrated National Financing Frameworks. Support to a major European donor on global process at ECOSOC on Financing for Development (Addis Ababa Action Agenda), including comparative assessment of progress made and remaining challenges outlined in UN Financing Sustainable Development Reports 2016-2020.

Reform of the United Nations Development System

Lead strategic support to a major European donor´s positioning in the reform process at the UNDS, including the revamping of the Resident Coordinator System, the Financing Compact and the QCPR process at the General Assembly.

Aid effectiveness

In-depth analyses, monitoring and evaluations including for the Global Partnership on Effective Development Cooperation, support to OECD Working Parties, and support to country aid coordination policies and practice in numerous developing countries. Numerous think tank publications and direct involvement in high-level processes at global and regional levels.

South-South Cooperation

Lead advice to global negotiation processes, capacity development of Southern development cooperation agencies, in-depth support to multilateral portfolio at UNDP, UNICEF and Rome-based agencies (FAO, IFAD, WFP)

Multilateral response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Review of crisis response and readiness at World Bank and UNDP with recommendations in areas such as flexibility and speed, inter-agency coordination, financing volumes and reprogramming, as well as responsiveness to climate change and gender equality implications.
